Hey everyone. Researched through the old archives and just wanted to confirm the belts sizes for a proper Stepper install.
It seems that everyone here (with a GS-R) is using a 620mm belt between the alt./stepper and the blower.
And my belt from alt. to crank, however, should still be the same (800mm), right?
Thanks, guys!

I can't comment on anyone else's stepper install, but with my original (Endyn) stepper, I used an 800mm (31.5") belt from the alternator to the crank.
After I changed to MMV stepper, I switched to a 805mm (32") belt.

So I guess the belt (alt. to crank) provided with the JR kit may generally remain unchanged. Great! Exactly the answer I was lookin' for! Thanks 217!!

Yup. The same 800mm crank->alt belt should fit.

The stock 800mm belt will fit...
Joe, why did you switch to a 805mm belt ???

As simply as I can explain it, the 800 mm belt no longer fitted after I changed to my new pulley. It was really tight. I could only get the crank side completely on the pulley, and half of the alternator side on. I went up 5 mm and the problem was solved. I think I had to tighten the idler pulley to about 75% from the bottom though.

Usually, I will drop the lower idler pulley all of the way OFF the lower alternator bracket, slip the belt on, and then start the adjustment bolt into the idler pulley boss... then properly tension it. This way I never have to really put a lot of "flex angle" into the belt. They last longer when they flex less.

I did try that, but no luck. The belt was still having some difficulty sliding back onto the stepper. Oh well. . . +5mm, problem solved.
